Emergency Medical Services: Paramedic Training
Award Type: Certificate of Achievement
The paramedic program is a one-year, three-part curriculum designed to provide Emergency Medical Services, Fire Technology, and Environmental Technology students with additional training in advanced life-support patient care. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to sit for the practical and written examinations of the Paramedic National Registry, which is recognized by California for state licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic.The graduate of the Certificate of Achievement in Emergency Medical Services: Paramedic Training will:
- Demonstrate the skill set necessary for a successful career in Fire Service, Environmental Technology, and /or Emergency Medical Services.
- Show knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations and codes pertaining to safety and efficiency in all risk emergencies and scenarios pertaining to fire, safety, and/or medical services.

A major of 33.5 units are required for the certificate.
